The team/department:
The department is responsible for the development and management of all IT applications for the departments of Markets and Treasury. The department ensures that the systems of the bank’s locations among others New York, Singapore, Sydney and Sao Paolo are available 24 hours a day.

This role will be in the team, which is responsible for providing best in class product life cycle and position management technology on existing landscape and enable transition to the strategic target operating model for FX, MM and rates products, rendering the value chain competitive and able to support its clients. This area’s purpose is to enable the bank’s and its clients solutions to manage risk on industry leading and cost competitive technology platforms.

You will be part of a self-organizing DevOps team, mainly focused on Software Engineering

The position:
Our client has embarked on a transformation programme to implement a new Front-to-Back-to-Risk (FtBtR) trade processing platform based on the Murex product which can support current and future business requirements at a significantly lower cost than the fragmented landscape in place today.

The K+ decommissioning squad has been setup to clear the path for decommissioning Kondor Global – one of the Front Office systems in the existing landscape – through a series of tactical solutions whilst the target system landscape is not in place. This is done via a series of MVPs for which a significant number of changes and migrations will be required in Murex and other systems.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities are:

  • Work in close collaboration with the Product Owner and DevOps teams to understand requirements;
  • Investigate, and propose solutions, on functional and technical issues raised by stakeholders;
  • Understanding requirements and translating into Murex MX.3 technical solutions;
  • Designing solutions in line with all relevant technical standards and with an emphasis on long-term supportability;
  • Involvement in software development around Murex MX.3 and other associated interfaces;
  • Unit testing and preparation of software releases for deployment into production;
  • Working closely with Business Analysts, Architects and existing system IT representatives, gathering their input and collaborating to reach optimum results;
  • Working closely with Test Analysts to construct relevant tests per functional requirement;
  • Liaising with the vendor (Murex) to ensure compatibility of integration designs with internal system configuration;
  • Working according to the agile framework in place for the project team.

Key performance indicators are:

  • Development and maintenance of code using the appropriate toolsets;
  • Working in an agile framework, establishing new procedures and methods where needed;
  • Promoting DevOps themes throughout the development lifecycle, such as continuous integration, automated testing, test driven development and continuous delivery;
  • Meet delivery dates, work to required standards providing business functional and technical documentation;
  • Share knowledge and provide guidance to other Developers;
  • Implementation of standards (project and process) and provide direction for other team members;
  • Provide feedback for lessons learnt from projects and support tasks.

Your profile:
Product Knowledge

Essential:

  • Murex MX.3 Core Modules and System Architecture / Configuration;
  • Murex MxML Exchange Development;
  • Murex Test Automation;
  • Murex Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery.

Desirable:

  • Murex Datamart Reporting and Batch Processing Development;
  • BoRepo API.

Technical Skills:
Essential

  • Languages: SQL, XSLT (DTDs);
  • XSLF, XMLF, XMFBM, XSLTREE;
  • RDBMS: Oracle Enterprise;
  • OS: Linux.

Desirable

  • Languages: Java;
  • Tools: Azure DevOps, Reformx;
  • Knowledge and experience with cloud-based technologies, and experience working within virtualised environments;
  • MSL, OSP, Lookup tables.

Business Knowledge:
Desirable

  • Knowledge of and experience working in an international Financial Markets organisation;
  • Knowledge of Capital Markets and Treasury Front Office trade execution, capture and processing;
  • Broad knowledge of Financial Market Instruments and their P&L, Risk Management and Operational requirements;
  • Proficient in the English language.

Personal Qualities

  • Strong ability to work independently in a Techno Functional environment;
  • Very good Analytical Skills and problem-solving ability;
  • Must be a fast learner, self-motivated, team player, and collaborator;
  • Good communication skills, pro-active and open attitude.
