Your team
You'll become part of an international technology team responsible for developing AI-powered solutions that help professionals efficiently discover, understand, and apply scientific information. Collaboration, continuous learning, and engineering excellence are central to the way the team works. Everyone is encouraged to contribute ideas, challenge assumptions, and build high-quality software that creates measurable value.
What you'll be doing
As a Senior AI Engineer, you'll design and implement scalable AI solutions that improve how users search, analyze, and interact with large volumes of scientific and technical content. You'll combine machine learning, natural language processing, and modern large language models to develop production-ready applications that support knowledge discovery and decision-making.
Working closely with software engineers, product managers, and domain specialists, you'll translate complex business problems into reliable AI solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Design and develop (agentic) AI applications using machine learning, NLP, and generative AI technologies.
- Build intelligent retrieval and question-answering systems powered by Large Language Models (LLMs).
- Develop Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines to improve search quality and information accuracy.
- Create recommendation, ranking, and semantic search capabilities using modern AI frameworks.
- Integrate structured and unstructured knowledge sources, including metadata, taxonomies, and ontologies.
- Define evaluation strategies to measure model quality, reliability, and business impact.
- Develop maintainable Python-based solutions suitable for production environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the complete software development lifecycle.
- Mentor colleagues and contribute to technical best practices within the engineering team.
What we're looking for
You have a strong technical background in artificial intelligence and enjoy turning research into practical applications.

- Solid knowledge of Large Language Models, including prompt engineering, model adaptation, evaluation, and responsible AI practices.
- Strong programming skills in Python.
- Experience working with large textual datasets and modern machine learning frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with semantic search, vector databases, hybrid retrieval methods, or Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
- Familiarity with cloud-native development and software engineering best practices.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
- Experience coaching or mentoring other engineers is considered a plus.
